Photos of a fish with human-like teeth and full lips are currently going viral after a fisherman in Malaysia shared his fabulous catch on Twitter.
The fisherman who took photos of the triggerfish he caught tweeted: “His lips are hotter than mine.”
His post has since gone viral with over 20,000 likes and many Twitter users were quick to put eyelashes and nails to the famous sea creature.
While some people commented that the photos are photoshopped, others confirmed that the images are real.
According to the Rakyat Post, the fish is called ‘ikan jebong’ or ‘ayam laut’ by local fishermen in Malaysia.
The World Wildlife Fund also confirmed that the photos could be Rhinecathus verrucosus or Blackpatch triggerfish.
“It’s a well-known species with a wide distribution from the Seychelles to the Great Barrier Reef, which would include Malaysia,” the WWF confirmed to Metro.
Triggerfish also love to eat hard-shell crabs and prickly sea urchins, thanks to their pearly white and sharp teeth.
Social media users are quick to add beautifications to the viral photos, putting purple nails on the fish and false eyelashes.
One internet user commented: “What’s creepy about it. We’re part of the animal kingdom so similar features that we have can develop in other species.”
Another wrote: “You could watch a far more interesting episode of Bear Grylls catching a triggerfish, eating the eyeballs and so on.”
A third added: “At a fish restaurant last year on holiday. The waiter brought a plate full of these type of fish for my hubby to choose from. They all had a good set of teeth! I thought how sad for their parents who were probably proud of their little offspring. I wish i could be a vegetarian.”
