Fishermen were stunned after coming across a drowning wayward deer that was swimming in the sea five miles off the shore of Maine.
After seeing what appeared to be an animal head sticking out of the water, lobsterman Ren Dorr and his crew immediately approached the creature to explore.
To their surprise, the lost animal was a deer that somehow got stranded far off the shore with little chances of survival.
Fortunately, the fishing crew arrived just in time to pull the exhausted deer out of the water and rescue its life.
“Found this little guy 5 miles offshore today drifting farther away from land,” Ren, who was fishing for lobsters together with Jared Thaxter and Shaun Dowling, explained in his Facebook post where he shared the photos of his ‘catch.’
“Couldn’t let the poor guy suffer and drown so we brought him aboard.”
After approaching the land, the crew placed the deer back into the water from where it quickly swam back to the coast.
Speaking of great rescues, a clever dog from India recently went viral after loading an abandoned baby monkey on its back before taking it to the police station.
According to the reports, the monkey was most likely separated from its family, causing it to be left to survive on its own. That’s when the unnamed four-legged hero from Madhya Pradesh walked in and saved the day by taking the mammal to Rehli Police Station.
In the footage taken by locals, the dog was seen wiggling his tail as he walked past the passersby directly to the police officers.
After the officials saw the kind act, they took the baby monkey into their care and fed it bananas. As the local reports suggested, the monkey, which was wearing a collar, was probably captured by people after it got separated from its family.
After the monkey was fed by the police officers, they have allegedly handed it over to forest officials who will determine the next step actions to ensure that the animal has a bright future.
