You might have come across a lot of inspiring stories where people put their lives in danger in order to rescue animals.

But rescuing an animal of a species you are seeing for the first time is something you can never forget.

Here is the story of Alan and Mallory, professional fishermen who ended up saving a polar fox.

Alan and Mallory make their ends meet by fishing near the eastern coast of Labrador, Quebec.

Both of them are specialized in catching crabs, which is one of the most loved food in that area.

One day they were in a sea and on their way back to the coast, they saw something strange moving on a floating iceberg.

The ice-berg was shaped like a mushroom and that’s why it caught their attention.

At first, they thought that it’d be a seal over the ice-berg but they were wrong. When they came close, they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

It was a creature that you could hardly imagine to be in the middle of the sea and sitting on a floating iceberg.

It was a polar fox who somehow ended up coming here and was looking for some miracle to be rescued. Both Alan and Mallory knew what to do.

 

They drove their boat towards the iceberg and lined it right against it.

The fox got scared after seeing newcomers but when Alan tried to point him the way towards the boat showing some food, she started feeling normal and came inside the boat.

The couple gave him some food and a blanket to feel warm.

Mallory told a news portal website, “We were able to get him aboard even though he fought it.

We knew we were his only chance for survival, as the winds had changed and were driving all the ice farther out to sea.”

The fox’s mood got better after some time and after eating some canned food, he started feeling energized and happy.

Upon their return to the coast, they set him free and the fox ran towards the woods after shaking himself off.

Such a wonderful story and a great rescue. This story has restored my faith in humanity and I hope there are more people in the world like Alan and Mallory.
