Morgan Mikena is a fitness blogger and youth motivator.
She is famous among girls because of standing for the cause of women empowerment and feminism. Three years ago she did a post telling people that she will stop shaving her body hair to fight the social pressure on women to shave their body hair. The sole purpose of doing this ‘resolution’ was to encourage women to love themselves regardless of what other people think about them and to always dress, wear and put on the stuff that makes them feel comfortable, not giving a heck to the so-called society standards.
Morgan, who was born in Indiana, decided to grow her body biologically and shared the results of not shaving her hair after three years. Surprisingly, according to her, she has decided that she ‘will never go back’.
In one of her Youtube video with the title “Why I Don’t Shave”. Morgan explained, “I guess my number one reason why I stopped was that it just took so much time. It took so much of my time to get in the shower and have to shave everything and then wash my hair and then wash my body it’s just like another thing. I just, one day, was like, ‘Why am I doing this anymore? This just takes so much time.”
She also added that the experience of not shaving was very unique and cool that made her feel very soft, comfortable and relaxed all the time. She said that shaving the body hair is very itchy and uncomfortable so that is one of the other reason she decided to not shave.
Morgan says that she wants everybody to not feel ashamed of themselves. Although her whole campaign was to make herself feel comfortable the campaign got an amazing response from her 70,000 followers on Instagram. But there were again some YouTubers who called it disgusting while one Youtuber called her ‘monster overgrown with hair’.
