A Florida couple is restoring people’s faith in humanity after they took a remarkable step of feeding more than 900 tornado-stricken people in Ohio.
A two-week series of tornadoes out broke in May 2019. This series affected at least eight states of the United States. This outbreak included a minimum of 301 tornadoes. The deadliest of this series was near Golden City, Missouri, which occurred on May 22nd.
The tornado affected the areas of Ohio on May 27th producing multiple hits. It was the strongest that had hit Ohio in the past nine years. It is also recorded as the first violent tornado, in the past three years that occurred in the month of May.
Amidst all this destruction and threat of life, a Florida couple has shone out. Stanley Peoples and Susan Peoples have been operating a restaurant ‘Beach Brothers BBQ’ since 2016.
The demand for their business had also been high from the community. They thought of transitioning to a mobile model to keep their catering roots along with feeding people.
Susan said in an interview that she and her husband had always wanted to help people struck by hurricanes and any other natural calamity. But this wish could never be fulfilled as leaving their restaurant was very tough.
They never thought that their wish would soon be heard and God would make them His hands to help people. This tornado made it possible for them to serve people in need.
As now they were operating their business as transportable vendors, they had the flexibility to go wherever they wanted. They decided to drive up to Ohio with their smoker.
They had only $200 with them. But being great believers in God, they knew that it was God’s plan and He would help them. Susan posted a message on Facebook, asking people for help. In no time, there were many responders.
Even before they left for Ohio, they collected nine tubs full of supplies and clothes thanks to her Facebook post. As they arrived in Ohio, people came forward to donate food.
Susan compares this deed with ‘feeding the multitude’ where Jesus fed 5000 people with five loaves of bread.
Miracle or no miracle, this Florida couple will forever be remembered by the people of Ohio for their great deed.
