A 35-year-old woman threw a German Shepherd off a motel balcony after police officers responded to a report that she had attacked a worker.
Allison Murphy was charged with animal cruelty after she hurled the terrified pooch from the second-floor balcony in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The footage of Murphy’s arrest and the moment she threw the dog off the balcony was shared by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers arrived at the motel Monday afternoon after workers reported that Murphy attacked one of the maids.
The footage shows deputies and Daytona Beach police knocking on Murphy’s room door before she opened the door.
Murphy and the pooch came out of the motel room before the woman picked the German Shepherd up and tossed the terrified animal over the railing.
The woman told the cops that she is not scared.
“Is that dog ok?” a cop can be heard asking.
“Yeah. It took off running and I tried to grab it,” another cop replied to the arresting officers.
One of the officers explained to the group: “The dog was loose and she grabbed a hold of it and we all thought that she was going to probably bring him back inside but she just flung him right over the rail.”
The pooch, nicknamed Miracle, managed to land on its feet and ran away, getting corralled by onlookers.
Miracle was taken by Volusia County Animal Services before she was transferred to the Atlantic Hospital in Port Orange for further evaluation.
An x-ray revealed that the pooch had a sewing needle lodged in her thigh. She is now recovering with Animal Services after a surgery successfully removed the needle.
One person commented: “Vile woman. Hoping the dog finds a loving forever home away from her evilness.”
Another wrote: “IDC if she has mental issues, she harmed an animal, someone should throw her off the balcony and see how she likes it.”
