NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs’ Derrick Nnadi has promised to pay for all pet adoptions taking place at the local shelter following his team’s Super Bowl win.
As the 23-year-old defensive tackle explained, he partnered up with Kansas City’s KC Pet Project centers in order to get as many animals as possible adopted.
The generous move followed his team’s big win on Sunday night, whereas Mr. Nnadi said that he would shoulder adoption fees for all the dogs staying at the local shelters.
“What an incredibly generous gesture and we want to thank Derrick for his support all season long,” KC Pet Project shared.
“We’re so honored to partner with @DerrickNnadi who is sponsoring the adoption fees of all of our adoptables dogs at our locations!”
As it happens, this isn’t the footballer’s first act of generosity. For the entire season, he had been paying for adoptions after every match his team had won.
“Kansas City is on cloud nine this morning with last night’s win and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Derrick Nnadi on this wonderful initiative,” Tori Fugate of KC Campus for Animal Care said in an interview with ABC News.
“Thanks to his incredible support, more than 100 available dogs in our care will have their adoption fees sponsored starting today.”
As for Mr. Nnadi, he remains humble about his generous act. “The perfect way to cap off this great season,” he wrote in his tweet.
