Heavy rains might hit Sydney, and it might last up to a week.

This is because of the remains of Ex-Tropical Cyclone, Esther, which has created a low-pressure system that is quite powerful and will unleash rain for a week across New South Wales or even beyond that.

Stephen Stefanac, the Bureau of Meteorology’s NSW forecaster mentioned that Sydney will experience the heaviest rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday and 20 to 50 millimeters can be expected in other areas, in these two days.

He said that the Cyclone Esther’s remnants will be influencing rainfall in New South Wales.

According to Mr. Stefanac, the low-pressure system created by the ex-tropical cyclone is dragging tropical moisture down into the state while moving towards the south-east to Sydney.

The weekend is expected to bring some relief from the rain for Sydney.

The ex-cyclone has not only dragged moisture to the other states but also triggered rain across Australia.

In the Northern Territory and throughout Queensland, heavy rain was prompted by the system remaining from Cyclone Esther.

Another forecaster, Tom Hough from Weatherzone, said that a low-pressure trough can be seen from this embedded system in Queensland.

He further explained that the ex-Tropical Cyclone Esther, over the next few days, will be moving south-east and western Queensland, Northern Territory, and western and central New South Wales will experience heavy rainfall due to that.

And more or lesser rains could be seen in any direction the low shifts, as the exact position of the low would decide the amount of the rainfall.

Eastern and Central Victoria will also get heavy rains on Wednesday and Thursday.

While some areas like Western and Southern Australia and Tasmania are safe from cyclone’s remnants but might have some odd shower during the week.
