Manufacturing workers from the Braskem America plant, Marcus Hook, PA, have voluntarily locked themselves in the plant for almost a month.
They have now gone home temporarily for a well-earned break. Their effort has been focused in making the materials needed for personal protective medical equipment.
They were let go on Sunday after 4 weeks of round the clock industrial operation.
They were obviously separated from families and friends, but they had their comfort knowing that their connection to the outside world was intact and that their related ones remained safe.
Some family members of the work force actually came by in a form of a drive-by visit, where they would wave signs and honking their horns. Also, as a compensation, the work force rightfully earned their wage increase, provided with all sorts of living spaces, free groceries, Internet access and an iPad to stir away their boredom.
All the first responders, all the people on the front lines, we thank you.
