We, humans, are a selfish race we take the world to be our property alone.
There are millions of other creatures present on the planet and earth is as much as home to them as it is to us.
Thus thinking of ourselves as the most superior ones and exerting our power on other creatures is just not right.
Yes, we are the creatures with the highest IQ but this does not make us the master of the other creatures.
We humans have been keeping animals under captivity for years and years now. Be it an animal that is violent or the friendliest ones, we have done bad to them all.
But now House of Commons of Canada has taken a step in order to make it illegal for keeping a whale or a dolphin in captivity.
Yes, whales and dolphins are the two of most lovely creatures on the planet and they love humans too. But the poor creatures are generally taken away from their habitat and put in the artificial ones so that they can entertain humans.
The new law will put a ban on import and export of these animals as well as a fine of CAD $200,000 will be charged if anyone is found rearing these animals.
Although the bill was introduced 3 years ago, it was finally passed on Monday and now it restricts everyone, especially entertainment companies from exploiting these creatures.
The speaker of the house said that they do not wish anyone to harm these aquatic mammals and they wish to let them live their life their own way.
Whales and Dolphins are huge mammals and they do not belong to the tank. They need to explore their world and we are committing a major crime if we are not setting them free in their own habitat.
