A group of best buddies created the “world’s worst Airbnb” only to end up getting a series of bookings for the bizarre setup.
As UK-based Rhys Simmons explained, he and his friends Jamie Kamaz and Hitchin came up with the idea to come up with an Airbnb ‘property’ of their own at no costs.
The group, who also goes by the name Passion Squad, started their project by moving a large mattress under a tree located on a field in London.
Accompanying the space for resting was also a small bedside table with a lamp and two complimentary glasses of drinking water which the guests are presumably provided with upon their arrival.
As the friends explained, the entire setup cost them nothing as they got the furniture for free via Facebook. In return, they also didn’t charge their customers for their stay.
“Myself & some mates came together to create the worst Airbnb ever seen. We gathered together a load of items we found on FB for free to assemble a terrible Airbnb experience,” Rhys said.
“But to our surprise when we uploaded this thing on to Airbnb, we had an insane amount of interest for people to come and stay within our establishment.”
After being flooded with bookings and requests to stay at the ‘property’, the boys expressed their happiness over the results of their project and suggested they could make it a full-time business.
“This was an insane accomplishment. To create the worst Airbnb in the world and then get a crazy amount of requests to stay is something that we will never forget. You never know, we may have to open this thing up for full-time business!” Rhys added.
