A human error recently left funeral mourners in Eastern Germany high on hash, with some even needing medical attention.

The police say the incident took place due to a mistake and was not intended by anyone.

According to the statement given by Rostock Police, the funeral mourners went to get coffee and cake after the formal proceedings of the funeral, a custom in Germany.

However, hash cakes are not what people are usually served after a funeral, no matter how sad the mourners are.

After eating the cake as the post-funeral dine in, 13 of the mourners felt dizzy and had to be attended by medical professionals.

The police investigated the matter and found out that the cake was baked by the 18-year-old daughter of the restaurant’s employee who was in charge of cakes.

The funeral cake mistakenly got replaced with the hash cake the teen had baked for some other occasion. The police said they’re interrogating the 18-year-old about the incident.

The incident happened back in August 2019 but was not shared online in respect of the deceased and the mourners.

However, this is not the first time people were accidentally fed cannabis cake this year. In August, people were accidentally served chocolate cake laced with cannabis at a birthday party.

As a result, as many as 18 people started dancing and singing and some even passed out after the 50-year-old host served them a drug-laced cake.

Around 15 of the guests fell ill, out of which 13 had to be shifted to a hospital. The incident happened in the village of High Melton near Doncaster, Yorkshire, England.

NHS had to deploy Hazardous Area Response Team, a unit trained to deal with public health threats and terrorism, to deal with the incident.
