Gabby Petito’s family has spoken out and called on wanted man Brian Laundrie to turn himself in.
On September 17, two days before the body of missing van-life girl Gabby Petito was discovered, the young woman’s fiancé Brian Laundrie disappeared without a word.
Until now, Laundrie remains missing whereas the FBI has since issued an arrest warrant for the 23-year-old over unauthorized use of a bank card that wasn’t his following the disappearance of his girlfriend.
Now, Petito’s family, including her mother, father, stepmother, and stepfather, gathered on Long Island to pay a tribute to the bright young lady and tell Laundrie to turn himself in to the FBI or the police.
“The Laundries did not help us find Gabby. They sure aren’t going to help us find Brian,” attorney Richard Stafford said in the family’s name.
“For Brian, we’re asking you to turn yourself in to the FBI or the nearest law enforcement organization.”
During the Tuesday press conference, which was the first conference held by the family since Gabby’s body was discovered, the family also proudly showed off their new matching tattoos.
As they explained, the ‘let it be’ tattoos were based on Gabby’s designs and aim to honor their daughter’s memory for the rest of their lives.
“I wanted to have her with me at all times. I feel this helps that,” the 22-year-old’s grieving mom Nichole expressed.
Meanwhile, dad Joe Petito thanked the media for all the coverage surrounding his daughter’s disappearance before encouraging news outlets to help other families of missing people as well.
“I want to ask everyone to help all the people that are missing and need help. It’s on all of you, everyone that’s in this room to do that,” the heartbroken father said.
“And if you don’t do that for other people that are missing, that’s a shame, because it’s not just Gabby that deserves it.”
