HBO has recently announced that The Game of Thrones Studio Tour in Banbridge, Northern Island, will be opening in Spring 2020.
This will allow fans to tour the studio where many of the hit show’s most iconic scenes were filmed.
Located within Linen Mill Studios, the tour will allow visitors to come face-to-face with original set pieces, props, costumes, and the weapons that game form to the worlds of Westeros and Essos.
The tour is currently being designed and built and when it’s done, it will offer a 110,000-square-foot interactive experience. Visitors will walk around re-living key scenes right where they all took place.
A “world-class” creative team is working hand-in-hand with Linen Mill Studios and HBO to bring life to Westeros and Essos in a totally new format.
A statement describes the tour as a ‘deeply immersive and sensory experience’ that will ‘evoke the show’s magnificence from King’s Landing, Winterfell, Dragonstone, The Wall and the lands beyond, to kingdoms across the Narrow Sea like Mereen and Braavos.’
A “first-of-its-kind” collection of informative displays will highlight the production areas and pay tribute to the craftsmanship and artistry of the creative team who made the series into the hit that it is.
To enhance the visitor experience, information about production design and the art department workshops will also be made available. There will also be an interactive costume department station, sections featuring the make-up and prosthetics, the armory, and many more.
Jeff Peters, vice president, licensing and retail, HBO, announced: “It is our sincere pleasure to announce the first attraction from the Game of Thrones Legacy project in Northern Ireland.
