A misplaced coffee cup seemed to undermine the credibility of the popular HBO show Game of Thrones on Sunday evening.

GOT fans stayed up late to see the thrilling 4th episode as the fantasy series, now in its 8th season, prepares for a bloody ending in a few weeks.

But fans suddenly spat their hot chocolate after spotting a Starbucks-like coffee cup in Winterfell’s Great Hall where Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and the united army of Wildlings, Dothraki and Unsullied warriors basked in their victory against the Night King.

The internet was set on fire after the modern-looking cup managed to make it into the show. In the fourth episode titled ‘The Last of the Starks,’ the disposable cup was placed on a table amid medieval-like objects next to the Mother of Dragons during a feast.

One Twitter user said: “StarKbucks.”

Another tweeted: “If that’s Dany’s Starbucks coffee I feel bad for the barista who has to write her name on the cup… hand must be cramping.”

Someone else wrote: “Yes, that was a Starbucks coffee cup in front of the Mother of Dragons on tonight’s GameofThrones.”

Another said: “You’re telling me they had TWO YEARS to put together a decent show and they couldn’t even spot the goddamn Starbucks cup in Winterfell??!?!”

HBO confirmed that the cup – not from Starbucks but from the production’s craft services – was indeed a mistake.

“The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea,” HBO revealed.

The cup has been digitally removed by HBO to fix the scene.
