A member of Littlehampton Jet Ski Club, Chris Headon was hanging out with a friend at the harbour entrance when a friendly seal came to greet them in Littlehampton Harbour.

Gavin the Littlehampton Harbour seal stayed and played with them for around half an hour.
Chris said: “It was great to see wildlife and sensible jet ski owners mixing well.”
“Spent about 30 minutes with Gavin today, he’s getting very cheeky”, he added.
Gavin the Littlehampton Harbour seal rose to fame after it was first spotted in the Arun in January this year.
Soon, a Facebook group named Gavin the Littlehampton Harbour seal created so the locals could share the pictures of Gavin.
Chris said Gavin popped its head out of the water and swam directly towards them to greet them. He filmed the heartwarming moment and shared the video online that instantly went viral.
The video received thousands of likes and comments. One user wrote: ‘He seems to be very comfortable around people. He probably wanted to have a race with the jet skiers’.
Another user shared: ‘Swam with him a few yrs ago off Rustington beach..very friendly and bigger than I realised.’
The third one wrote: ‘we need to get the kayak out I wanna see this beauty’.

Gavin has a lot of followers on Facebook and everyone just loves the friendly seal who always greets his fans whenever they spot him.
Gavin is named after local hero RNLI lifeboatman and harbour attendant and he can be often spotted at Littlehampton Harbour and several miles up the River Arun.
