We always wonder what these furry little creatures are capable of and they always surprise us with new boundaries they cross.
We always read how they become good friends or how they act smart in times of need. This is a story of Chico who crossed another boundary that surprised everyone.
Chico, a German Shepherd who is just 1-year-old, didn’t get confused or scared when he got lost on the streets. He didn’t even howl out loud or roam cluelessly.
Instead, he did something very smart and courageous which nobody expected him to do. He gathered all his knowledge and went to a local police station to report that he was lost.
Chico went to the police station in Odessa, Texas at around 3 am, and handed himself in by putting his front paws on the reception desk. The officers there couldn’t believe what they saw.
They had to help him, so they looked around his collar and found the information tag missing. Without the tag, it was impossible to identify Chico’s owner, so they called animal control.
Chico hung out at the police station, played with the workers there and got a lot of petting.
Despite the fact, it was 3 am in the night, the police officers became fond of the dog and couldn’t get enough of him.
They found his good behavior really impressive and also made a joke that Chico was there to apply for a K-9 position.
Before the animal control team arrived, Chico decided to head back home on his own. His owner was sleeping and had no idea that he ran away.
Chico lived at a mile’s distance from the police station. His owner got to know about this on the next morning. He then informed the police about being the owner of the dog and that he safely returned back to home.
