Many people say they want their dogs to look like a puppy for the rest of their lives – but that’s just impossible.
Well, this German Shepherd with dwarfism will always look like a tiny pup!
Meet 2-year-old Ranger, a very adorable pooch who despite his age will stay in puppyhood as long as he lives!
Ranger was diagnosed with Pituitary Dwarfism after he got an infection caused by Giardia parasite. Shelby Mayo, his owner, explained: “When we originally got Ranger from the breeder, he was smaller than all his other littermates, but we figured that was because he had a parasite called Coccidia.
“In the weeks following, we took him home and he was parasite free but later on ended up getting a parasite called Giardia.
“At the same time, we also discovered that Ranger had a large infection on his neck. We were eventually able to get the infection under control, fast forward a few months later we were finally able to get rid of Giardia.”
Ranger managed to completely recover but he wasn’t growing anymore. When his owners took him to a vet to determine what’s wrong, they discovered about his bizarre condition.
His condition will make him cute forever but it has some negative effects. Because of that, he had some health problems such as having flaky skin.
But there is no need to fret as his owners make sure he receives the right treatment. Ranger is generally a healthy and happy doggo who enjoys playing with his siblings and friends!
One internet user commented: “Awwww so adorable! My husky has dwarfism too. From a birth defect. 100% healthy and as cute as a button.”
Another wrote: “So Very cute, (obviously) but also sad- dwarfism can come with serious health problems- and very expensive vet bills!”
A third added: “AWWWWWWWWWWW I am dying because of cuteness! reminds me how cute my german shapard was when she was a puppy.”
