Everyone has a last wish.
Be it cliché or peculiar last wishes must be treated with respect. And that’s what the kids of a 73-year-old ta lover mother did.
The mother, 73, who died of a heart attack, used to drink around 40 cuppas every day. Tina Watson, the mother, once joked to her daughter about her funeral, and she made her wish come true.
In her funeral, Tina was packed in giant tea bag-shaped coffin. Her daughter Debs Donavan added that her mother had a wicked sense of humor and had an ardent love towards tea.
She had already survived two heart attacks, and both her legs were amputated. Despite all her medical conditions, Tina managed to put on a smile on her face every time.
Four years ago, both mother and daughter had a light conversation about Tina’s funeral and her ex-husband’s funeral. That’s when she came up with the idea that she must be buried in a coffin-shaped like a box of giant tea bags. And Debs added that okay but it has to be Typhoo and Tina agreed.
Both mother and daughter burst into laughter. Later, Tina added that she was serious about the coffin, and that stayed in Debs’s mind forever.
Tina’s funeral service was held at Gilroes Crematorium, Leicester. Debs recalled the memories of her humorous mother. Tina never let her health became a barrier between her humor.
Even she lost both her legs to an insect bite infection, nothing could hamper the confidence and humor.
The funeral director, Paul Pender, said that it was one of the unusual requests he has received, but their team was happy to make it happen for the family. It is always nice to give their customers what they actually want.
Deb added that her mother would be delighted, and she would go home and raise a cup of tea to mom.
