9-Year-Old Gifted Student Landed His First Doodling Job After He Kept On Getting Scolded For It


A 9-year-old boy who kept on getting scolded for doodling during school hours has landed his first ‘job’ after his talent was detected by a local restaurant.

While most kids nowadays prefer spending their time on gadgets, young Joe Whale loves nothing more than doodling, not only during free time but also during school hours.

While his passion would often get him in quarrels with his teachers, the boy’s talent didn’t go unnoticed.

Soon enough, England-based Joe was not only named The Doodle Boy but also landed his first gig as a designer for a restaurant named Number 4.

In an interview with Bored Panda, the boy’s father, Greg, revealed that his son was patiently doodling on the walls of the restaurant for 12 hours to finish his project.

“I would advise parents to encourage their children to always follow their passion and dreams — research local workshops or groups within your local community,” the proud father said.

“Joe loves doodling and we’re so proud of everything he’s achieving, the fact that a completely independent business has asked our 9-year old son to do a professional piece of work for them is incredible.”

Speaking of the project at the local restaurant in another interview, Greg added:

“They wanted to get Joe into their restaurant to complete an art piece on their wall, and it was in their main dining area, we were over the moon.

“I asked Joe and he of course leapt at the chance to do it so we have been going there after school where for a couple of hours a night he’ll put his creativity on their wall.”
