Amelia ‘Milli’ Lucas was suffering from a massive brain tumor and it wasn’t until Dr. Charlie Teo stepped in that her prognosis brightened up.

As Dr. Charlie Teo’s Foundation revealed, the 12-year-old girl had been suffering from rare Li-Fraumeni syndrome and battling terminal brain cancer for years.

Thanks to Dr. Teo’s revolutionary procedure, however, 98 % of the tumor was wiped out and the girl was able to resume her life.

“Milli Lucas has battled with terminal brain cancer for the last three years. Only a few months ago she wasn’t responding to treatments and only had weeks to live but Milli and her family were not ready to give up,” the foundation wrote.

And so, Dr. Teo embarked on a dangerous mission to remove the girl’s tumor despite the fact that it was attached to her brain stem.

For the remaining 2 % of the tumor, the girl will undergo “alternative treatments” in her home country, Germany.

“Milli has recently returned, is doing well and now back at school with her 15-year-old sister Tess,” the foundation added.

Thanking the doctor for saving his daughter’s life, 49-year-old father Grant Lucas wrote:

“Thank you Charlie Teo, if we had of listened to doctors in Western Australia it may not have been possible to have my three beautiful kids on Father’s Day.”

According to the reports, alternative treatments had zero effect on the tumor due to its large size. When every other doctor refused to operate on the girl due to the high-risk location of Milli’s tumor, the family pleaded with the public to help them raise $160,000 in order to afford the expensive procedure at Dr. Teo’s private hospital.

“They know the risks, they know it’s not curative and could reduce her quality of life, but they just aren’t ready to give up. It’s a brave decision,” the doctor said before the surgery.
