Ashley Dawson is a 26 years old beautiful girl who suffers from OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
It is a mental condition when a person finds itself stuck in a cycle of obsession and compulsive behavior.
The obsessions can be through any stimulus. It then triggers unwanted negative feelings, anxiety, urges, and irritation in the body and mind of the person suffering from it.
While she had been suffering from the disorder since she was 4, she was diagnosed with it only 7 years ago. She had been projecting intrusive thoughts and recursive behavior ever since she was a little girl.
Recently, she was also diagnosed with depression. As per the doctors, the reason for her condition is an infection she got when she was just a child.
Dawson shared that most of her life she had been judged and mocked on for her OCD issues. She says that over the years, she had been able to develop some tactics so that it looks more natural and people cannot make fun of her.
She said that she made the video because she wanted people to see how her tics run so wildly that it gets out of her control. She says that she does not care if only a couple of people see it or a couple of hundred people see it.
But apparently, she ended up getting more than a couple of million views.
In the video you can see her tapping her plate on the counter and smelling her food several times before she starts eating. She also smells her food man times after taking the first bite of her food.
tiktokShe says that most of the people think OCD is just about cleaning, which is completely not true. OCD can harm a person in so many ways and lack of awareness about it is ho distressful for people actually dealing with it every day.
She says that it is difficult to express how fear and shame feel. This is why I and so many others like me suffer even more when people think all we want is a clean counter.
