A girl got expelled from her school after kneeing one of the several boys who entered the girl’s bathroom at her school amid an anti-trans Snapchat protest.
The issues started after a student who is transitioning to a male began visiting the boys’ bathroom at the North Pole High School in Alaska.
Allegedly, the male students were upset by the fact that the school allowed the trans boy to make use of the boys’ bathroom.
And so, the male students began plotting ‘revenge’ via Snapchat where they decided to storm the girls’ bathroom and take a selfie in it.
According to Karen Gaborik, a Fairbanks North Star Borough school district superintendent, however, the protest that took place on the morning of April 4 ended quickly.
As soon as the first boy entered the bathroom, the girl in question has sent her knee flying into his crotch without a question.
Following the incident, the girl’s family reported that their daughter got expelled for use of “excessive force.”
While Ms. Gaborik hasn’t confirmed whether the girl really got expelled, she claimed that all seven boys who participated in the protest were punished for “attempting to enter the girls’ bathroom.”
Nevertheless, both the girl’s family and the public were outraged after the news of expulsion broke out.
“I don’t care why the boys were in the bathroom,” state Rep. Tammie Wilson said, criticizing the school’s way of handling the issue.
“I just wanted to make sure I had this opportunity to tell those young ladies at North Pole High School… if you ever feel threatened for your safety, whatever force you think you have to give, I will stand behind you. And so will your community.
“Not for those boys who were where they didn’t belong.”
As Ms. Wilson added, she has been in touch with the girl’s family ever since she learned of the incident. She also claimed that the boys “blocked” the girl from leaving the restroom and that she had all the right to defend herself.
