Living life is all about learning new things. Even as adults, we learn something new every day be it a bit of trivia or some event halfway across the world. Learning and experiencing something new is important because otherwise, life would be so boring. And the things we learn don’t even need to be earthshaking or something that will win us a Nobel prize or anything. Even learning a new recipe or listening to how a family member’s day went also counts.
It’s hard to imagine it now but we’re absorbing information bit by bit simply because we’re building upon the knowledge that we have already accumulated throughout the years. But imagine what it’s like for someone who was just born and doesn’t know anything AT ALL about the world? Even people who are struck with amnesia at least have a foundation on the basis of the world around them.
But for infants, they’re literally starting from scratch and that can be a very frightening experience especially since their minds and bodies aren’t developed enough to fully absorb and comprehend their surroundings and what’s happening.
This is why the love and care of parents is important and likely the reason why infants tend to latch on to that little bit of comfort because it’s easy for them to understand being loved.
However, as an infant grows up, he/she eventually needs to be introduced to new things and do away with the old way of doing things that may not be in their best interest anymore. Bri’s parents certainly thought so which is why they “graduated” her into sleeping on a toddler bed. But as they hilariously found out when they saw the baby cam on her first night on the bed, new things can certainly be confusing!
Bri is of an age where she is still in need of a pacifier so that she can sleep but she’s now old enough to sleep in her own cot. That’s why her parents decided to finally put her on a toddler bed. Dutifully watching through the baby cam, Bri’s father sees mommy put their little angel to bed and even pulls up the blanket to cover her.
But once mommy leaves the room, Bri can be observed immediately getting up as if confused why mommy left. And even if only half the bed is fenced in by a rail, Bri is apparently so used to her crib that she decides to attempt climbing over the rail instead of just sliding easily off the bed.
With one foot hanging on the other side, Bri is apparently undecided on what she should do. In the meantime, her parents can’t stop giggling at the sight. Eventually, the toddler decides to just lay down on the bed and go to sleep, probably realizing that she can leave the problem for another time.
Whew! Day one completed!
