Watch the girl who was born with a genetic condition which caused her right leg to swell

A 19-year-old girl, who was born with a genetic condition called Parkes Weber Syndrome which caused her right leg to grow to twice its normal size, recently won a title in a beauty pageant in her hometown.
Isa-Bella Leclair’s leg grew to around 40lbs which made it impossible for her to play sports. She couldn’t even wear tight-fitting jeans.
Now, the teenager has accepted her imperfections and recently posed in a bikini.
Isa-Bella also won a title in a beauty pageant in her hometown of Campbellton, New Brunswick.
She told Barcroft: “My condition doesn’t define me and there’s no way I would let it stop me from wearing a cute swimsuit or a cute dress.”
“For me, confidence is the most important part because when people see someone confident in their body – even with a disability – they don’t have pity but instead admiration.”
She talked about her rare condition as she said: “The lymphatic fluid in my body goes into my leg and because the system doesn’t work properly it doesn’t go back, so it stays there and swells my leg.”
Isa-Bella has learned to feel confident in her own skin despite the stares and attention she gets wherever she goes.
She said that people would stare at her whenever she went out in public and she would just explain them, ‘I was born this way’.
She said: “I think it’s important for people who have health issues to not only work on getting healthy but to work on loving yourself and accepting who you are.”

Her mother, Joanne said: “As a mom, I would expect her to come back home from school crying because she couldn’t do something, but that day never came – not once.”
“Whatever she wanted to do she did it, whether it was riding a bike or snowboarding.”
She is inspiring so many people and encouraging them to accept their imperfections and feel confident in their own skin.
