A 93-year-old grandpa named Ron is compelled to stay at home for at least 12 weeks as the Government has ordered that people over 70’s should self isolate themselves amid the coronavirus pandemic.
A five-year-old girl, Kirah decided to cheer the elderly granddad up as she penned a note to let him know that he was not alone. She wrote, “Hello my name is Kirah and I am five years old.”
“I have to stay at home because of the coronavirus. I just want to check if you’re ok? I have drawn you a rainbow to remind you that you are not alone. Please write back if you can.”
“From your neighbor at number nine.”
The 22-year-old granddaughter of the elderly man shared the letter on Twitter revealing that her grandad is fine while self-isolating at his home.
Louisa also said that her grandfather wrote the letter back to the girl and thanked her for making him smile. She said, “My Grandad is 93 and currently in isolation of course – but is in very good health and he has received the most beautiful letter from his 5-year-old neighbor and he wrote back to her. Just please read, it should make you smile.”
The letter he wrote reads, “Hello Kirah, I was so pleased to receive your message asking for my well being and I am pleased to say I am keeping well so far.
“I was the first person to move into the crescent in 1955 and I have been here ever since. I thought your drawing of a rainbow was amazing and I’m going to place it in the window for everyone to see.”
“I would like to thank you again for writing to me and hope you will be able to get out of isolation soon.
Twitter users were delighted to see the sweet gesture of the little girl and praised her for the same. One wrote, “This is adorable! What town is this?? My heart.”
