It is common for young couples to meet online through social networking sites and develop a romantic relationship.
Most couples decide to move in together to test their compatibility.
Some relationships develop and bloom like a beautiful rose, while others don’t have such a happy fate. If the partners feel that they are not compatible with one another, then they can part ways peacefully.
The problem arises if one of the partners decides to use brute force over the other. Domestic violence is a sad truth that infests society. It is a criminal offense and must be reported.
But many feel it is best to dust it under the rug and move on. The police get involved only when the matter goes out of hand. It is what happened for Adele and Matthew.
Matthew Hayes and Adele Semple are like any other normal 31-year-old individuals. They met each other for the first time on a dating platform. Matthew was attracted towards the beautiful Adele and sent her an invitation.
She was also impressed by his manly appearance and heart-melting smile. They soon exchanged phone numbers, and the chatting was replaced with phone calls.
The two love-birds decided to move in together. But it was a decision that would leave Adele scarred for life, both mentally and physically.
It did not take Adele long to figure out that Matthew was very protective of her. She used to think it is cute until Matthew hit her for the first time. It dawned on her that her seemingly loving boyfriend finds it difficult to keep his rage under check.
Fights become more common as Matthew always suspected that Adele was having a secret affair with another person. Adele thought it was just a phase and will be over soon.
Unfortunately, things took a much worse turn as Matthew Hayes hit his girlfriend on the face, while they were quarreling. He was accusing her of an affair, while she was defending these allegations.
The blow was so intense that it damaged Adele’s eye socket badly. After the assault, she was admitted to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
A criminal case was filed against Matthew, and he was arrested. When he was presented in the court, the judge passed the verdict of sending him to jail for two years and five months.
Doctors are trying their best to treat the eye injury, but they fear that the damage may be permanent, and Adele can lose her eye forever.
