A 7-year-old girl who was nearly abducted by a paedophile Duncan Johnson is scared that he could come back to take her with him.
Natalie Grimes’s saved her daughter from being kidnapped by a convicted paedophile as he first asked for her handbag then her car keys when she settled her daughter in the car.
Duncan Johnson put a blade above her Miss Natalie’s head after grabbing her by the throat. She tried to protect herself but he threatened her saying “I will f***ing kill you” and put the blade down when the mother tried to raise an arm in her defense.
He cut her coat with the knife but Miss Natalie didn’t give him her car keys in the fear that he will abduct her daughter. Luckily, two men noticed the knife in Duncan’s hand and came to the mother’s rescue. They waited for the police after grappling him to the ground, later he was arrested outside the store in the Walton area of Liverpool.
Duncan who has 30 convictions for 128 past assaults was prisoned for six years with an extended three years on the license. Natalie recalled the moment at Liverpool Crown Court saying she was concerned about her daughter as she felt the girl would be traumatized after the horrific incident.
Natalie was so disturbed after the harrowing ordeal that she couldn’t sleep properly and was prescribed sleeping tablets. She is also taking anti-inflammatory tablets as she got hurt during the attack.
The mother said: “My daughter who is seven witnessed what happened, as she was in the car at the time. I could hear her screaming, ‘my mom, my mom.’
The girl has left distressed after witnessing the attack to her mom and she has now become quite.point 193 | Mr.point 196 | Criddle said: “She used to be a bubbly child, but has now become quiet and cries a lot and the teachers at her school have noticed how this affected her.point 326 |
She follows her mom everywhere, even when she is washing the dishes, and she is worried ‘the man will come back and get them.point 108 | ’point 115 | 1
The mom said no child deserves to witness such things what her daughter experienced at the Asda. Mr. Criddle said the mom “kept seeing the man’s face and the tone of his voice in her mind’s eye.”
He added: “She feared what would happen if he had got the car. She thought he was going to kill her. It was the worst experience of her life, it was horrendous, and she keeps having flashbacks and is constantly upset and can’t stop crying.”
The girl is now dread to visit Asda again and the mother still can’t believe the incident took place at such a busy supermarket.
Mr. Criddle added: “She is a carer for her mother but has been unable to do this since the incident. She is constantly looking over her shoulder. She says she will never ever go back to Asda as a result of this incident and her mother is taking her out to buy things for her daughter’s birthday because even the thought of this makes her uneasy.”
