When experiencing troubles in life, a helping hand is enough to make you brave and face the cruel world.
A 7th grader noticed a classmate getting bullied, so she showed her care and love.
Haley Olson doesn’t always have the coolest things. Her time in Atkinson Middle School had been hard as she was the target of bullies who laughed at her for not wearing ‘trendy clothes.’
She told FOX10: “I always came home crying and stuff to my parents saying how I didn’t want to go to school anymore, I wanted to be home schooled.”
But one girl changed everything. Mariah Andrew decided she wouldn’t just watch and let Olson become a victim of bullies.
So Andrew befriended Olson and asked for her sizes. When she returned home, she gathered some items for an amazing surprise.
Andrew put together a gift of shoes, clothes and a backpack.
“I was jumping all over the place screaming how happy I was,” Olson expressed.
Because of Andrew’s act of kindness, other classmates have also been inspired to reach out to Alson. Sonoran Smile Orthodontics also gave free dental work.
“It made me feel happy at first and the day that I gave it to her, I was trying so hard not to cry,” Andrew revealed. She is thankful to have her new friend by her side.
“Being there whenever I needed her like her being a good friend when times were hard at school.”
We need more people like Andrew to make this world a better place.
