It’s not every day our love for birds is reciprocated but one girl is luckier than most as her flying friends know how to show their love and appreciation.
8-year-old Gabi Mann from Seattle receives a small, special gift every once in a while. She keeps all the items no matter how small they are as they’re from her special friends.
Local crows bring her shiny objects as presents in thanks for feeding them for years. The gifts consist of scraps of metal, Lego pieces, shaped beads, and buttons.
Gabi already has a collection of gifts and she organizes them carefully. She even received a metal with the word ‘best’ on it.
“I don’t know if they still have the part that says ‘friend.’”
The box has a row of small objects in plastic bags. One clear bag contains pieces of brown glass worn smooth by the sea, while another has a label that reads: “Black table by feeder. 2:30 p.m. 09 Nov.”
Each gift is individually wrapped. “We keep it in as good condition as we can,” Gabi told BBC.
The young girl said that the peal colored heart is her most-prized gift. “It’s showing me how much they love me,” she added.
One internet user commented: “I never knew crows could be so grateful, if I feed them they just fly off and don’t come back with a gift.”
Another wrote: “this is so sweet! what a great job the parents and crows are doing of teaching a child to respect and love nature <3.”
A third added: “That’s so cool that you kept them all. Those are “special” and things she’ll remember forever.”
