The 9-year-old girl who died after falling from a tree managed to save the lives of four people.
When Shaylyn unexpectedly died, her family was left devastated. The young girl was playing in a tree when she fell and the impact was so strong that it severely affected her head.
Her mother, Jesi Bergeson, reached out to friends and other people for prayer. She wrote on Facebook: “Shaylyn fell from a tree and has a piece of rebar in her head we flew to eirmc and they said her condition is too complex so we are just loading up to fly to primary children.
“Please everyone pray for my baby.”
During an interview with EAstIdahoNews, Jesi said that her daughter had a craniotomy. Doctors had to remove half of her skull to alleviate the pressure but there was also excessive bleeding on the right side of Shaylyn’s brain.
The next day, Jesi shared another update, revealing that a piece of metal pierced her daughter’s left side of the brain. They were told that Shaylyn would have a 50 percent chance of surviving the surgery.
“Our lil girl is a fighter and so strong and survived the procedure.
“She is not out of the woods, but we are so blessed to have her still. God, her sissy, and countless others have definitely been looking after her. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers please keep praying we have a long road ahead of us but our baby is alive and that’s all that matters.”
Unfortunately, her condition didn’t improve. Jesi shared an update about how they would want to donate her daughter’s organs.
She said that Shaylyn would want to donate everything, and this is exactly what the girl would want to do.
The young girl died but her organs saved four lives and another person’s vision.
