A 7-year-old girl who saved her mother’s life by performing CPR has been named a little hero following her brave act.
Jessica Kinder may be young but that didn’t stop her from performing CPR on her mum, Becky, who collapsed to the floor all of a sudden.
As Jessica revealed, she took all the measures needed to safely perform CPR on her mum because she learned about the method by watching YouTube guides.
According to the young girl, she tried to wake her mother up by throwing water at her face before checking her breathing and performing CPR while talking to the emergency services.
“I’m so proud of her – I can’t believe how heroically she acted. It must have been so stressful for her to see that but she stepped up and tried to save me,” mum Becky said in an interview.
“For a seven-year-old to do that is incredible – she’s my hero. I’ve got her something extra special for Christmas as a big thank you.”
As the mother added, the incident happened shortly after she had dropped her son off at school. Apparently, she started feeling sick, leading her to head back home in an attempt to get some sleep.
“I put a Christmas film on to make Jessica feel better and the last thing I remember is putting a cup of tea down for her, then I passed out,” Becky added.
“When I woke up the paramedics were here and my little girl was hysterical … When I realized what had happened, I asked her, ‘how did you know what to do?’ She said to me, ‘oh I saw someone do it on YouTube’ – I couldn’t believe it.”
According to the doctors, the mum’s blackout could be linked to the woman’s previous incident during which she injured her head.
They have also confirmed that the girl did an amazing job at protecting her mother.
