A one-year-old girl was miraculously rescued alive, despite spending three nights alone in a dense Russian forest.
The toddler who has been identified as Lyuda Kuzina went missing after wandering away from her family while playing in an unfenced garden. The worried parents immediately notified authorities after they failed in locating here in the vicinity.
Local media reports from Russia claim that nearly 500 members took part in the massive-scale rescue operation, which reportedly took place in Russia’s Smolensk region, near Obninsk. But despite their great efforts, hopes soon began to dwindle as the members failed to trace any form of clues relating to her recovery.
A total of three nights had passed by and soon, many feared for the worst. After all, how could a child so young manage to survive in a forest alone. Moreover, this forest was renowned for its dense nature, filled with both bears and wolves too.
But contrary to many people’s opinions and beliefs, the young toddler was miraculous found alive. The forest was about two and a half miles away from her real home and it was evident that the child had no idea where she was going and how dangerous her surrounding really was.
“One of our groups stopped in to take a rest from the daunting expedition. And just as our hopes were fading, that’s when he heard a very faintly sounding squeak. Our minds and ears were alerted immediately and that’s when we picked up the pace to search for her,” explained a member from the SALVAR rescue squad.
“We kept calling her name again and again, and everything we did, she gave out a faint squeak,” he explained. Suddenly, they saw her thin arm being stretched out so that one of the rescuers could grab a hold of her. The news sparked tears of joy and relief around camp.
Despite the active wildlife present in the surrounding, the young girl managed to make it out alive. She was reportedly found in an area where there were plenty of fallen trees. Thankfully, the temperatures in the nighttime were 20 degrees celsius and that assisted her astonishing survival.
Little Lyuda was very weak and covered from head to toe with insect bites. But that wasn’t many people’s concern. The fact that she made it out alive was just a moment of relief and joy for her parents and the rescue team involved in the search operation.
