There are several premature babies who make it out to the world and survive and then there are others who even after making out to the world are not able to survive for long.
The case of this little girl was the same as she was born 14 weeks premature and doctors said she only had 12% of chances of survival.
They said that they do not have hope that she will be able to make it to her 1st birthday but beating the odds, the girl has now turned 5 and is all set to go to primary school.
Miya was a rare child who was born 14 weeks premature and the doctors said that the baby girl only had 12% of chances at survival.
Right after she was born, she spent 18 days in the incubator and was under observation in the hospital for four months before her parents Shannon Baker, and Luke Woodgate could take her home.
Shannon says “just like the doctors said, we had very little hope for her to survive but she did. She went to the pre-primary school even though she was just so tiny.
But now she is done with her preschool and it is time to enter primary school. This is what scares me.”
“She is still this tiny girl and she is going to take her first steps into the real world.”
“The best part about it all is that she is just so excited that it makes me excited for her.”
“We have to keep her shoes and clothes hidden because if she finds them all she does is wear them and run out to the garden. She is way too happy with this new step in life and we are happy to see her happy.”
Her parents thought she would not even make it to her 1st birthday but Miya proved that she is a brave child and has turned 5 now with health and happiness.
