A jealous girlfriend who bit her boyfriend’s testicles before stabbing him has been imprisoned for ten years.
38-year-old Cordelia Farrell stabbed her boyfriend, 36-year-old Wayne Coventry, after having a heated argument at his brother’s home.
Following the vicious attack, which took place just weeks after the woman allegedly bit her boyfriend’s private parts, the father-of-three was found lifeless at his brother’s house in Bromsgrove, England.
Farrell immediately fled the crime scene, sparking a major search before turning herself in five days later. After her arrest, the 38-year-old was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to ten years in prison.
“People close to you and him soon realized that it was a toxic relationship that was likely to end in some sort of catastrophe and that is exactly what it did,” Judge James Burbidge QC said during the sentencing.
“People who were concerned on both sides for both your well being knew it was a turbulent relationship and sought to keep you apart.”
The judge continued: “For yours as a relationship undoubtedly fueled by alcohol and drugs was violent and abusive. You picked up the largest knife from the knife block. As the jury found you were not acting in defense of yourself.
“You then wielded that knife not intending to cause him serious bodily injury let alone to kill him but in a such a dangerous manner that harm even significant harm at such close quarters was likely to befall him. As indeed it did.”
As the jury heard, the couple’s argument followed just weeks after Farrell was arrested for assault after biting and twisting her boyfriend’s genitals.
According to the reports, the 38-year-old told the authorities that one of them “would end up dead” at the time of the arrest.
While the judge also sentenced Farrell to 18 months in prison for the assault, this sentence will run concurrently with the 10-year sentence she has been handed after being found guilty of manslaughter.
