Kyesha Smith Wood sent her kids to the movies.
When they got back, her son revealed something about his two sisters. During the movie, they harassed another family.
Kyesha was appalled. She didn’t raise her children to be rude.
She learned that her daughters targeted a mom and her daughter. The mom, Rebecca Boyd, had scolded her daughters for acting out. Kyesha appreciated the other mom for disciplining her girls, but felt a lingering sense that she had to do more.
So Kyesha decided to post on Facebook, and it quickly went viral.

Rebecca asked the two girls during the movie to be quiet.
Accord to Rebecca, she has said to the girls, “You know girls, we paid for this movie just like you did. Can you just kind of keep it down?” But the girls just laughed.
After the movie, she approached the girls and let them know that they had been rude. She also told them that her husband had recently lost his job. This was the last movie that her and her daughter would be able to afford until they found another source of income.
When Kyesha heard this story, she said, “It broke my heart, honestly.”

So Kyesha did what many people do when they’re not sure what to do.
She took to Facebook. She wanted to apologize to Rebecca, but also teach her daughters a lesson about respect.
In an unexpected twist, Kyesha’s post went viral. She was able to eventually meet Rebecca face-to-face and apologize for her daughters’ behavior. The meeting was broadcast.
The publicity earned Rebecca’s family some well-deserved attention. Her husband began receiving job offers and Kyesha had her daughters donate their allowance to the family.

At the end of the day, Rebecca believes that Kyesha’s daughters are good people, even if they were rude in the theater.
And Rebecca can’t deny that the entire thing has resulted in some positive changes for her and her family.
