During her first session in the class called “Developing Intimacy with God”, God actually answered her prayer.
When she said to God during the prayer that she feels lonely, He replied that he misses her too. Lindsay was unclear on His response because that wasn’t the answer to her question. He replied to Lindsay that loneliness is just a lie. It actually doesn’t exist.
The reason why she feels this way is because she sectionalizes her life and involves Him only in the spirituals matters, whereas He is included in every matter of hers. He has never left her alone and waiting this whole time to have an acknowledgment from her.
These sentences left her in tears and she asked God what if she stops this sectionalizing and include Him in every matter of hers? What would her life be like then? And He answered that her life would be like waking up in the morning and watching Him sitting on the side of her bed and wishing Him a good morning.
It would like asking Him what to wear, going out for lunch with Him, introducing Him to her non-believing friends, looking upon Him whenever she has a bad day or needs a shoulder to cry upon, and sharing with Him her day-to-day life.
He said He’s not just a Father who wants her to do all the spiritual things and worshiping only, but He also wants to go for a walk in the park with her. He said that He created her to intimate Him, not just in prayer or in church but in all what she does.
He said that He loves her and apart from spending eternal life with her, He wants to spend the earthly life with her too.
Lindsay was in prayer but that moment unlocked her heart and every prayer, every single word started making sense to her for the first time in her life.
She says that realizing and acknowledging God has totally changed her life forever. It has unlocked her heart to intimacy and transformed the way she used to see God.
