The golden statue of Donald Trump that was displayed at the conservative conference last week is now ready for a new owner.
During the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida, last week, MAGA supporters were able to pose next to a golden version of the former president.
The large statue shows Trump holding a magic wand and a piece of paper titled ‘We the people’. The 45th president is also seen wearing a business suit along with a red tie and American flag-themed shorts.
The piece of art was reportedly created by 61-year-old Tommy Zegan, an artist from Mexico who is currently staying in the US under a permanent resident visa.
Though Trump had plenty of controversial things to say about Mexico and Mexicans during his time in office, it just happens that the statue that quickly gained fame among his supporters was made in Rosarito, Mexico, before being brought to the US.
“He’s wearing a business suit because he’s a business man. The red tie represents the Republican party, the red white and blue shorts represent the fact that he’s a patriot,” Mr Zegan explained in an interview with the New York Post.
As the artist also revealed, he is now willing to part with his creation, which is titled ‘Trump and his Magic Wand’, in exchange for $100,000.
As of this writing, it is not clear whether the statue was already sold and whether the Mexican artist already received any offers.
Besides the golden version of the Donald Trump statue, Zegan also designed a stainless steel sculpture that he intends to sell for $1 million. Alternatively, he hopes that the more expensive version could find a new home in the Trump Presidential Library.
