Some people say 13 is an unlucky number, but not for this mama!
A three-year-old Golden Labrador named Lucy just gave birth to 13 black-coated puppies.
Lucy’s owner, Catherin Smith, described the moment the perfect black-coated pooches kept coming after she went into labor.
“She had the first four in just 20 minutes, then they just kept appearing,” Catherine shared.
“This is the first time we have bred a dog and thought she might have five or six. She started at 11.50 am and it was all over by 4.30 pm,” she continued.
“I think she wondered where they’d all come from!”
Catherine said she mated her Golden Labrador with her friend’s black lab named Bastion. A few months later, she has 13 adorable black-coated puppies.
“We’re now getting through 15kg of dog food a week,” she said.
All five females and eight males were sold within three weeks.
One internet user commented: “Wow. Gorgeous parents & litter. I hope they get Lucy spayed now, I think a litter of 13 is more than enough.”
