The skeletal remains of a man were found in Florida who went missing 20 years ago.
Reportedly Google Maps helped police solve the mystery behind the case.
Wiliam Moldt was missing since 8th November 1997, and the cops shut the case when there was no clue regarding the missing.
After 20 years, the case reached it’s end, when someone spotted submerged car via Google Maps and called the police for further investigation.
The remains of his body were found in a pond in Wellington when the manager of the Grand Isles housing department found it on Google Earth.
The area where his remains were found was a building site back in 1997. The skeletal remain was found out from the submerged car and sent for medical examination.
Reportedly, the submerged car was visible through Google Earth since 2007, but it never caught anyone’s notice, until a property surveyor spotted it on Google Earth.
As reported by National Missing And Unidentified Person System, William Moldt, 40 years old, left a club on the eve of 7th November and went missing since then.
He last called his girlfriend saying that he would be home soon, and no one ever heard from him since then.
The police officials have long closed the case as they were not getting any evidence regarding the missing. There were no speculations of any threats, no prior suicidal behavior, and no chances of burglary.
After 20 years, when the skeletal is found, there’s not much anyone can do to solve the case. The man went missing 20 years ago, and his body was found at a place where there was a building site in 1997.
And there’s no connection between his missing and his body being found in a submerged car.
But, thanks to Google Map for solving a 20 years old case that police were not able to solve.
