Gordon Ramsay has officially acknowledged that he has been: ‘sneaking off’ for 100km bike rides during lockdown but insists he was not breaking rules and should have been left to ride his ‘fricking bike’.
He has been brazen enough to ‘look after the coastline’ and let him ride his bike. Ramsay, 53, has gone so far to say that the coast guarding authorities should not tell him ‘what to do in the middle of the forest’ when there’s ‘no one on the f****** roads’.
Frustrated Ramsay, in his Instagram video said, in a very disrupted vibe, has gone on to claim that ‘There was no law to say that you had to cycle for an hour and an hour only.
‘They were encouraging you to cycle so I did sneak off on some massive 90km and 100km bike rides.
’ ‘Those rolling hills between here and Newquay, Bude, and Bodmin.
Bodmin Moor at half past five in the morning in the middle of Spring, there’s nowhere more beautiful. ’ He added: ‘So what are the coastguard going to do? Think about it.Look after the coastline, let me ride my bike.
The coastguard should not be telling me what to do in the middle of the forest on my fricking bike should they? There was no one on the roads so how the f*** can you complain about me and my little bike when there’s no one on the f****** roads.Come on.
’The Michelin-starred chef said cycling has been therapeutic for him and his family and it’s what has ‘kept it together’ for them during lockdown.
‘For me there’s something quite therapeutic about being out in nature in the countryside,’ he said.
‘It’s just this sense of achievement. It’s not about massive long rides. It’s about having fresh air. It’s about seeing roads from a cycling point of view as opposed to either flying over it or driving over it and you start to appreciate agriculture in a different way.
The roads were quiet and cycling has really kept it together for [our family] during this lockdown.’
We can only hope that the celebrity chef will hold on to his thoughts and keep the proximity to himself.
