Gordon Ramsay has explained his teenage son Jack about the dangers of chatting girls online.
Dad-of-five Gordon Ramsay knows well- especially about social media DMS, which the 52-year-old says ‘keeps him up at night.’
Ramsay shared his worries about internet safety during an interview with GQ.
When asked what scares him as a parent, Ramsay replied that it was messages from ‘fans’ on social media because we do not know them, these people are not friends and are actually strangers.
Gordon and his eldest son, Jack, 19, appeared on GQ’s ‘Like Father, Like Son’ series to celebrate Father and Son Day.
Ramsay said, “You think that these people following you are fans, I hate that word. They’re not, they’re f**king strangers.”
He asked Jack: “You don’t message people?” There’s no denying that the youngster hesitated and we all know what hesitation means…
Jack replied to him: “I don’t think you need to worry, because you’ve taught me quite well when it comes to real friends, fake friends, you know, how to approach the issue of social media. I’ve been taught quite well.”
Gordon confirmed his fears, saying: “So the one thing that keeps me up at night is Jack messaging individuals on social media.” Oh, he’s in trouble.
Jack says it depends who is the person messaging him is and then put things into perspective: “You’re 19 years old, OK? This cool, good-looking, young girl messages you on Instagram, what are you going to do?”
Gordon told his son: “That could be your mom’s friend in disguise.” Adding: “You never know, so just be careful, ok?”
The topic turned to the cooking after Jack was asked what he learned from his dad, explaining: “I know with you, football was your first love and it was heartbreaking when that ended but you know, your relentless nature and drive, you found cooking.
“You didn’t stop until you got your three Michelin stars and you’re still going.”
Ramsay jumped into conversation immediately and asked his son: that means Jack wants to become a chef and his quick response was, “No.”
