Tessica Brown, also known as Gorilla Glue Girl, has discovered masses in her breasts during consultation before receiving plastic surgery for abdominal liposuction and breast lift.
The 40-year-old went viral on social media after revealing that she had used Gorilla Glue in her hair after she ran out of hair spray.
Dr. Michael Obeng, a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, managed to remove the glue from her hair using ‘basic chemistry.’
The mother of five from Violet, Louisiana, took to Instagram to express her gratitude for surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng, who dissolved the Gorilla Glue in a $12,500 procedure.
“Words cannot even explain how I feel about @drmichaelkobeng you really gave me my life back and I am forever grateful,” she wrote.
According to reports, Dr. Obeng offered the treatment for free after seeing her shocking dilemma online. He used a custom mix of natural products and chemicals to dissolve the adhesive after practicing on a dummy head to make sure his formula would be effective.
He told TMZ: “I looked up the compound, the main active ingredient in Gorilla Glue: polyurethane. Then we figured out the science, how to break it down.
“We bought chemicals that have components to dissolve the solvent, we used medical-grade adhesive remover that we use in the operating room,” Dr. Obeng continued.
“Then we have another active ingredient, MGD. We added MGD to it – which is an aloe vera and olive oil mixture. Then we added a little acetone.”
The plastic surgeon remarkably salvaged much of the mother’s hair.
Dr. Obeng has also discovered masses in each of Brown’s breasts during a pre-surgery consultation for a breast lift and abdominal liposuction, according to TMZ.
Doctors have already performed surgery to remove the lumps in her breasts and test them for cancer.
Gina Rodriguez, Brown’s manager, told the outlet that they believe the glue problem was meant to lead to the discovery of the masses.
