So you are visiting the zoo to see those exotic animals.
And you see a 375-pound gorilla lunging at you from his enclosure. Scary, right?
Kijito is the oldest silverback male residing at Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. He repeatedly lunged at the visitors through his enclosure. I guess it was his way of showing that his alpha strength and stance.
Glass or no glass was a scary thing, but the man in the video doesn’t seem to be bothered by the mammal at all when he saw the huge mammal coming at him.
However, it did leave Kijito confused as to why he cannot reach his distant family on the other side of the glass.

Rumble
As per the CEO and executive director of the ZOO, the visitors in the zoo don’t do anything to provoke the gorillas, and it just what they do.
They have an aura of dominance, and they want to show that in whatever way it is possible for them. And while they are asserting their dominance, they can become quite noisy and at times disturb or scar the visitors.
In this video, we can see the man looking straight as if he is in deep thought. And out of a sudden, the gorilla lunges at the glass and gets himself smacked at the glass. According to zoo officials, it is not an uncommon behavior on the part of Kijito.
In fact, a year back, during such act, the gorilla smacked himself so hard on the glass that there was a crack; but thankfully, it did not shatter, and nobody was injured.
While most of the people consider this behavior, gorillas have been seen asserting their dominance often and often scared the zoo visitors in the process.
