It is truly a heartwarming moment for this 87-year-old grandad who fought COVID-19 for two weeks and defeated it.
Ewart Lockton who resides in Machester was battling coronavirus in North Manchester Hospital and was discharged.
The news was shared by Sophie Edwards, his granddaughter on her Facebook page. As soon as she shared the story, it went viral instantly and received over 52,000 shares.
Sophie wrote that in the time of crisis, we need to hear some positive news. She added that her grandfather said goodbye to the staff of North Manchester Hospital, where he was fighting COVID-19 for the past two weeks.
Sophie continued by saying he is completing his recovery at where he belongs – at home with his wife. She thanked everything which was kind and supportive throughout this difficult time most importantly, NHS.
Her story collected many positive feedbacks. Once comment read that NHS has such an expert medical team and wished them good luck. Another comment states that what a brave man and medical team and wished both of them good luck.
Sophie’s news surfaced on the web as a huge army of British citizens came forward to help the NHS and the most vulnerable in the country amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
NHS receives five registrations per second, and such a massive response from the citizens surprised the chief. He was overwhelmed by such a heartwarming response.
As of now, the number of volunteers for NHS has reached 504, 000, which is more than the entire population of Coventry.
The new task force of NHS volunteers will be given the task of providing important medications and supplies to 1.5 million people who are living in isolation to protect themselves from the deadly coronavirus.
