A grandfather’s letter on a bucket of baseballs is touching both children and parents’ hearts all over the world.
Ethan Anderson took to Twitter to share a note left by his grandfather on a bucket of old baseballs at a batting cage they used to visit when he was young.
His grandpa, Randy Long, hopes other parents and kids would also have a great time with his old baseballs.
The grandpa’s letter on a bucket of baseballs reads:
“Free. Hope someone can use some of these baseballs in the batting cages. I found them cleaning my garage. I pitched them to my son and grandson for countless rounds. My son is now 46 y/o and my grandson is 23 y/o.
I am 72 and what I won’t give to pitch a couple of buckets to them. They have both moved away. If you are a father cherish these times. You won’t believe how quickly they will be gone.
God bless
P.S. Give them a hug and tell them you love them every chance you get.”
Grandpa’s letter on a bucket of baseballs touched everyone’s hearts, with one person commenting: “Wow. Makes you stop and think about making sure to enjoy your kiddos while they’re still young enough to want to hang out with you.”
Another wrote: “What I would have given to have a grandfather like this man in my life! Never had one interested..dear dad followed those footsteps too sadly. Cherish the ones you love.”
A third said: “So refreshing to see a man very directly talk (write) openly about love, his feelings, his family members, and being a father. Your grandpa is pretty damn cool. Please thank him for this.”
Someone else replied: “Omg I saw & RT this earlier today. Your grandpa is priceless. And from someone who lost a priceless grandpa I want to say this… ‘Cherish these times. You won’t believe how fast they are gone.’”
