A loving husband has passed away from cancer just one day after his wife of 68 years who had been suffering from heart disease.
88-year-old Bob Johnson from Minnesota has died 33 hours after his wife, Corrine, whom he’d met and married 68 years ago.
As the family of the couple claimed after the passing, it wasn’t a coincidence that Bob passed away right after Corrine.
“I sort of thought he looked like he could go for weeks. As soon as mom died he went downhill and died in a day. It’s hard to imagine it’s a coincidence,” son Bruce said in an interview with KARE11.
According to the family, the couple was able to spend quality time together before Corrine had passed away. Just days before the wife’s final hour, they allegedly shared a sweet kiss, whereas Corrine whispered ‘I love you’ to Bob.
During the couple’s funeral service, the family explained how they feel happy that they were able to pass away on their own terms without spending too much time without each other.
“They went on their terms,” son Brent added, before saying “it was only fitting that in the end he waited for mother” because he had always put her first in life.
Bob and Corrine tied the knot in 1951. Since then, they lived together at Norseland Eastview Farm where they raised several kids and enjoyed life until health issues got the better of them.
The lovers are survived by their 7 children, 14 grandkids, and 15 great-grandchildren.
