Human beings forget that earth is the only planet on which they can survive.
Our planet is on the verge of ruin and humans pay no heed to it. Earth is suffering due to the activities of human beings. Advancement in technology has proved disastrous for animals and marine life. But there are a few people who care for the things which pay them back. They do whatever they can to protect the enchanting beauty of their sole planet.
A grandmother who hails from the United Kingdom and is seventy years old got tense about the planet earth after watching a documentary on the pollution caused by plastic waste. Pat Smith made a goal to clean a beach in one week. She was unable to sleep after watching pollution. This made her set the goal for 2018.
Pat Smith was supported by a lot of people in her locality. Her grandchildren along with some people in their locality, who volunteered, helped Smith her in fulfilling her determination of cleaning the beaches.
Plastic straws are harmful to our health and according to Smith, they are of no use and only increase garbage. Pat Smith is determined to make her locality as well as the world free of plastic.
We all are aware of environmental pollution and global warming which is caused by our own treatment with planet earth. If we take straws, they are completely useless. No awareness is provided on such minute issues. In a campaign started by Smith, she vowed to provide awareness to the general public that how harmful these plastic straws are. These are not only harmful to human beings but for marine life as well.
Pat Smith does not only wants to clean the beach of her hometown which is Cornwall but she is determined to clean the whole planet.
Every single person uses plastic straws and they cause filth. They also clog the oceans and harm marine life and even cause landfills. They are a danger to every single person on earth.
