As coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep around the world, people finally realized the importance of social distancing, washing hands, and sanitizing to prevent the spread of the disease.
Staying at home will also help protect not only yourself but also your family, especially older people. But that doesn’t mean families or friends can’t have some fun.
Sara Byrne shared the heartwarming moment her family surprised her 95-year-old grandmother outside her home on her birthday.
Kathleen Byrne or simply Grandma Byrne was shocked to step outside her home as she was met with a line of the most important people in her life.
She waved as over a dozen of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren sang her ‘Happy Birthday.’
“If you’re lucky enough to know Grandma Byrne, you’re lucky enough!! Wishing this amazing lady a very happy 95th birthday today, love you Gram!” Sara wrote on Instagram.
In the Instagram video, Grandma Byrne’s family is holding up signs that read ‘Happy Birthday’ and balloons while they sing to her.
“Oh, I love it. Thank you,” the birthday celebrant yelled. “I’m sorry we aren’t all together. But you are all together.”
Kathleen has seven sons, 22 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
In an interview with CNN, her granddaughter said: “She has done so much for our family and we are so so thankful to still have her, especially during this crazy time our world is going through.”
“We wanted to show up for her to make her feel special on her big day no matter what.”
One internet user commented: “Happy Birthday Kathleen, let’s hope when you reach 100 you can look back on this day and smile & thank God things are back to normal.”
Another greeted: “How lovely is this!! Happy Birthday you gorgeous Grandma….what a family you have raised x.”
