A seventy-one-year-old grandmother went missing on August 13th.
She was found after five days of being missing entangled in woodland undergrowth. She was alive and conscious when found.
Janice Warren was discovered near Bream rugby social club, Gloucestershire by rescue teams after an extensive search.
After she was found, she was taken to Gloucester Royal Hospital where her condition is found stable but further medical treatment is still needed.
According to her family, Janice was unwell before she vanished and is currently is not well enough to speak. But she survived regardless of extreme weather condition of torrential downpours and thunderstorms, which is shocking.
The rescuers searched by painstakingly combing through the woodland until 1 a.m. on Friday and then returned with more volunteers on Saturday.
Janice is from Lydney which is an hour of walking distance from Bream. She was found on Saturday afternoon in the woodland by a team of rescuers from the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA.)
They said in a statement that they were delighted to locate the missing lady by one of their teams. The revealed that they had feared the worst since she was missing for several days in the awful weather.
They further added that all their training is worthwhile as they achieved a successful result as a team.
Janice was reported to be missing as her neighbors raised an alarm after they did not spot her hanging clothes or taking the bus nearby as usual.
Her daughter Sarah rushed from Gloucester only to realize that her unwell mother had disappeared. Since that day, the family spent a few nail-biting days until she was found.
Emma Skidmore who is Janice’s granddaughter thanked the rescuers for their efforts.
The family praised everyone for their efforts in locating the elderly lady and is amazed at how she managed to survive without water and food in such heavy rains all on her own.
